I was reminded just how good the Nuffield Primary Design and Technology website is when I visited it today. It contains examples of pupils work, resources and free to download classroom materials. Each of the units of work are broken down into well structured and manageable pupil activities.

BBC Bitesize Games for KS1

The BBC has increased the range of their ‘Bitesize‘ activities to now include Key Stage 1 for both Numeracy and Literacy. The games cover a range of topics and look to be good fun. There are three levels to each activity (medium, hard or very hard) and can be used as starter activities, for independent work or during a plenary.

Ictopus

Welcome back! A new school year, a new term and a new subscription service to sign up to. Ictopus (ICT online primary user support) is a free support service for primary schools which aims to build on the successful Direct2u materials. Each week registered members of the service will have access to a six page magazine (Sharing Good Practice) and a set of activity suggestions (Lessons2go).   There will also be a regular newsletter and a variety of other resources and projects. All the resources will be available from the web archive and members can also opt to receive alerts offering a one-click download service for each item. Register for free here.
